Localized Evangelistic Blog Content
Feb 5th, 2005 by Doug
When creating your localized evangelistic blog you will want to provide as much local content and features to draw people to your blog on a regular basis. Most local sites usually include a schedule of events, business directory, restaurants, weather, yard/garage sales and a online poll. Some of the bigger sites include advertising as well.
I would suggest researching all the websites focused on your city or county as well as others to get an idea what they have done. Your goal should be to improve and make yours better.
To bring the evangelistic elements into the blog you will want to target the felt needs of your community. Try to address the common personal needs of the people and develop content that will relate to them. Think about what is going on in your community, what are people talking about and what issues are on their minds.
You can provide content that will point people to Christ in the midst of these circumstances. You don’t want to be to preachy, but then again don’t dilute the message. Keep in mind to stay away from “churchy” language and use words that they will understand.
