My Church 2.0

MyChcuch.orgMyChurch.org is a brand new social network website for your church.  It is not just a “My Space” for your church, but also a way for members in your church to connect with each other and those outside your church.  MyChurch is not meant to replace a churches main website, but it is a good compliment to it.  They have no plans to run ads on the website.  Churches can pay a small fee to upgrade the amount of disc space for their church.  MyChurch.org is still in beta, but the team there has done a good job with the initial launch.

“Dare to Be a Daniel” training

Tonight I was watching the Billy Graham television special. During the broadcast they featured a new training program, Dare to Be a Daniel, for children.  This program teaches boys and girls how to share their faith in Jesus with others.  The material is presented through printed booklets, CD-Roms and an interactive website. There is no cost for the Dare to Be a Daniel program.

Churches Using MySpace

In May 2006, The Wall Street Journal featured an article on churches that use MySpace to attract the younger generation to attend their church.  The writer of the article highlighted my post about using Squidoo.  Thanks to Andrew LaVallee for the mention.

Church and Ministry Video Lens

There are a lot of great distributors and content creators of church and ministry videos. These are the type of short video or film pieces that you would show at a ministry event or during a church service. You will find that not all of the content creators are listed with the distributors. I have created a Ministry and Church Videos “one stop shop lens” at Squidoo to help you or your church find a video for your ministry needs. If you don’t mind, please take a moment to fill out the short poll. This will help me know how to build a “lens” that people want to see.

“Purple” from 36 Parbles

PurpleThe guys at 36 Parables have completed their latest DVD, Purple, based on the parables of Christ. It soon will be ready for shipment. Here is what you will find.

Out of Reach: based on the Parable of the Friend at Night (Luke 11:5-8)
The Car Lot: based on the Parable of the Shrewd Manager (Luke 16:1-13)
Sean: based on the Parable of the Barren Fig Tree (Luke 13:6-9)

On the website you can watch the trailers for each film. They even have the film, Found, from their first DVD, Yellow, that you may download for free.

These DVDs are a great tool for evangelism and Bible Studies. 36 Parables has a resource center on their website where you can get access to Bible Study for each film that has been produced so far.

What Can You Do With 250 Remotes?

Ok, this is a bit off what I would normally write about, but it is creative. In fact the guys behind the idea, Rhett and Link, are involved doing some very creative ministry. Check out their latest podcast here.
